Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) is all set to take part in the Red Cross and Red Crescent Conference on Labour Migration, which will be held by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Bangkok, on June 20-21.
As reported by Gulf Times, the conference is a follow-up from the Doha Dialogue Initiative, hosted in 2014-2015 with events held across Qatar, Myanmar, and the Philippines.
IFRC Asia Pacific and IFRC Middle East and North Africa will be facilitating the event in partnership with the Australian Red Cross, QRCS, and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
It may be mentioned here that a high-profile delegation will be representing QRCS headed by secretary-general Ali bin Hassan al-Hammadi, volunteering and local development executive director Noura Rashid al-Dosari, international relations head Dr Fawzi Oussedik, and International Humanitarian Movement’s senior co-ordinator Dr Sabrina Meddour.
As a matter of fact, the conference will provide a platform for Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies and external partners to discuss recent developments and exchange views, knowledge, and experience under the theme of humanitarian assistance, protection and advocacy for those affected by labour migration.
