Qatar handball team qualified for the semi-finals of the 18th Asian Games (Asiad 2018) that is being held in Indonesia and will continue until September 2, after beating Saudi Arabia (28-23) in their match today in the second Men's Handball Main Round - Group A.
The Qatari team dominated the game, finishing the first half with a score of 16-10 points in their favor.
Qatar toped the group with 4 points followed by Japan, while Saudi Arabia were third with one point, and Iraq finished fourth after losing to Japan 24-27.
Qatar secured their first group qualification before their final game against Japan on Friday in the third and final Group A matches, in which Saudi Arabia will also face Iraq.
The Qatari win is the team's fourth in the tournament, having won the first round matches against Iran (35-20), Malaysia (64-11), and the first round of the main round against Iraq (26-20). (QNA)
