HH the Amir patronises Lusail Stadium design unveiling ceremony

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani patronized the ceremony of revealing the design for Lusail Stadium, stadium will host the opening and final matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

 

The ceremony, held at Lusail area yesterday night, was attended by the President of the Republic of Ecuador, Lenin Moreno Garces; United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres;  President of the United Nations General Assembly, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, and Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Ali Khairi.

High Highness Sheikh Jassim canister Hamad Al Thani, the Personal Representative of HH the Amir, also attended the function.

This 80,000 capacity venue will be the biggest stadium during the FIFA World Cup 2022, which will kick off on November 21, 2022 and be the first to take place in the Arab world, according to information shared by Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) on its social media account. 

The venue’s golden vessel takes its motivation from an Arab architectural sense as much as it does from exacting imagery by commending the locale's antiquated custom of craftsmanship.

The structure highlights 'fanar' lanterns and intricately detailed bowls that have been made for centuries in the region.

Development of the arena, which is being conveyed by a  joint venture comprising Qatari firm HBK Contracting Company and China Railway Construction Corporation,is as of now well in progress. With the substructure finish, solid superstructure and foundation works are advancing in all zones, while inner works have commenced in the west stand. SPORT 10,11 & 12
