Indians assemble in large numbers to welcome IAF pilot Abhinandan

Scores of individuals collected at the Attari Joint Check Post (JCP) on Friday to get Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who is probably going to be discharged by Pakistani specialists later in the day. 

Individuals began landing in Attari, around 30 km from Sikh sacred city of Amritsar, since 6 am. Their numbers swelled by 9 am. 

"We have come here to respect our nation's legend back home. We will give him a great welcome. Abhinandan's folks, Air Marshal S. Varthaman (Retired) and mother Shobha Varthaman, who is a specialist, were cheered by travelers when they loaded onto a departure from Chennai to New Delhi on Thursday evening. They are relied upon to be in Attari to respect their child back home. 

The 35-year-old Wing Commander was caught on Wednesday by Pakistan after his MiG-21 Bison contender fly was hit by Pakistan Air Force streams close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. 

Sources said that the pilot is probably going to be conveyed by Pakistani experts from Rawalpindi to Lahore and gave over first to the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) under principles of the Geneva Convention before being conveyed to the JCP on Friday evening. 

The Border Security Force (BSF), which keeps an eye on the JCP and the 553-km long International Border with Pakistan in Punjab at high caution, Punjab Police and other security organizations positioned extra work force since early Friday morning. 

Varthaman will be questioned by safeguard and security authorities after his arrival before he is taken to New Delhi from the Amritsar airplane terminal. 

"Numerous VIPs and other essential individuals come to Attari verge on various events. In any case, today, a genuine legend is returning. We will give him an a major and warm welcome with dhol and bhangra," Manjit Singh, who was conveying a dhol, said. 

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan reported on Thursday that the caught IAF pilot will be liberated as a "generosity motion" after New Delhi looked for his unlimited, quick and safe discharge.
