The economies of many countries in the Middle East are heavily reliant on oil exports. Saudi Arabia and the UAE, for example, are large oil-producing nations where petrol prices are relatively low.

In contrast, people of some Arab countries face either a situation of ongoing war or are heavily taxed on petrol by their governments which leads to higher oil prices.

 

Using current data  from GlobalPetrolPrices.com, we ranked Arab countries (from lowest to highest) according to the price of oil in their respective state.

2. Algeria - USD 0.36 per liter

3. Egypt - USD 0.43 per liter

4. Syria - USD 0.44 per liter

5. Bahrain - USD 0.53 per liter

6. Saudi Arabia - USD 0.54 per liter

7. Qatar - USD 0.56 per liter

8. Oman - USD 0.58 per liter
