The Stallions Cricket Academy of Qatar concluded a very successful second tour to Sri Lanka on Wednesday.
The team played 21 matches in three cities with leading schools and academies in Sri Lanka, which are managed/coached by current and former Sri Lankan test players such Angelo Mathews, Sanath Jayasuria, Sajeewa Silva, as reported by The Peninsula.
As a matter of fact, this is the largest ever-overseas tour the Stallions embarked on after many successful tours to England, Australia, Oman, Dubai and Sri Lanka.
The tour group of 70 was made up of three teams in the Under 10, Under 13 and Under 16 age categories.
The tour comprised of a coaching camp that was conducted by former Sri Lankan fast bowler, Chaminda Vaas.
Sidath Tennakoon, the head coach of Stallion, commented on the tour, saying it provided the players an opportunity to put into match practice the skills they have learned.
He hoped to bring cricket teams from overseas countries such as England, Australia, Sri Lanka to Qatar, in the future.
