The first Qatar Visa Centre overseas all set to be inaugurated in the Republic of SriLanka at Colombo city on Thursday, 11 October 2018, with in a series of similar centres that will be opened in eight countries as a first stage.
This step comes within the framework of the expatriate workers recruitment strategy that simplifies employment visa procedures and protects the rights of all parties involved in the process.

Fingerprinting and processing biometric information, medical examinations and signing employment contract are the key services that will be given by the visa center in Sri Lanka and different focuses to be opened later.
These centres enable government, semi-government organizations, privately companies and recruitment agencies from those nations to finish work visa procedures through a single window ensuring a simplified and quick process.
The project is administered by the Visa Support Services Department at the General Directorate of Passports though it has contracted with an company as the service provider to provide all the required services.
The project targets employment through 20 service centres in 8 nations: Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India and the Philippines.
