Qatar Rai, the prime in-charge of the revolutionary Doha Metro project, has come out all confident of completing construction works for all its stations by the end of 2018.
In this regard, Abdulla Al Subaie, the managing director and CEO of Qatar Rail, welcomed a delegation from the Advisory Council on Wednesday.
The delegation included His Excellency the Speaker of the Advisory Council, His Excellency Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud and a number of council members who also paid a visit to the Doha Metro project to review its progress.
During the tour, HE the Speaker of the Advisory (Shura) Council was briefed on the progress of Doha Metro and the completed stages and praised the government and the projects it implemented despite the siege circumstances, reports Qatar Tribune.
The speaker said the Doha Metro project was one of the most advanced transportation undertakings in the region.
The delegation began the tour with a visit to the Economic Zone station and made a journey on board the Doha Metro to Ras Bu Fontas station.
It later visited the Doha Metro Depot located in the Ras Bu Fontas area and the main controls centre of the Doha Metro networks to observe the control, surveillance and central operation systems.
