Qatar handball team beat Bahrain team (32-27) to win sixth gold medal in men's handball tournament at the 18th Asian Games 2018 held in Indonesia.
Qatar-Bahrain match witnessed excitement and strength from both sides, and the original time ended with a draw (25-25). However, the Qatari team overcame in extra time and ended the match by five goals difference to qualify for the gold medal while Bahrain won the silver.
South Korea defeated Japan 24-23 to win bronze. Qatar had beaten South Korea 27-20 in the semifinal while Bahrain beat Japan 31-20.
Anis Zouaoui top-scored for Qatar with seven goals and was well supported by Francis Marzo (six), Roine Bertrand (five) Ali Yousef, Rafael Capote and Allaedine Berrached who all pitched in with four goals apiece.
